Lift Schools is the admissions authority for our school. Applications for places will be made in accordance with the local authority’s coordinated admission arrangements. These should be submitted using the Common Application Form and will be administered by the applicant’s home local authority.
The secondary school admission round for Year 7 places opens in September each year, with a statutory national closing date on 31 October. Late applications may affect a child’s chances of securing a place.
Applications can be made online via your local authority’s admissions website. Please note that some local authorities do not send letters to parents about making an application, so we recommend checking their website for full details.
Our Open Evening for prospective students and their families takes place in early October. We encourage everyone to attend, but if you are unable to do so, we may be able to offer alternative tour dates. Please contact us to arrange a visit.
National Offer Day, when school places are confirmed, falls in March. Any objections to the determined admission arrangements should be submitted to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator (OSA).

Ofsted 2025 said
”Pupils are warmly welcomed, and proactive safeguarding and welfare teams ensure they have trusted adults to approach with worries and receive necessary support. Encouraged by school values (integrity, kindness, self-control, and excellence), a calm, caring, and purposeful atmosphere prevails.
New pupils are supported by buddies, and sixth-form students act as reading mentors and subject-specific helpers. Bullying is addressed promptly and measuredly. Pupils attend well, enjoy learning, and take pride in their "beautiful books," which reflect their deepened knowledge and extended skills through a well-sequenced curriculum. Inclusion is central; disadvantaged pupils, those with SEND, those known to social care, and those facing learning or wellbeing challenges (like young carers) receive timely, targeted support.
Effective teaching addresses knowledge gaps, allowing pupils to progress steadily from typically low starting points into further education. The well-considered personal development programme prepares pupils well for adulthood.”
Our school offers a nurturing and engaging nursery environment where children can develop their social, emotional and learning skills in a supportive setting. Applications for nursery places follow the Local Authority’s coordinated admissions process. For more details about availability and to arrange a visit, please contact the school office directly.
If you would like to apply for a place outside the normal admissions round, you will need to complete a mid-year application form through the Local Authority’s admissions website. Once submitted, the school will contact you to confirm the outcome and, where possible, arrange a tour of the school. Please note that waiting lists for mid-year admissions are ranked based on the oversubscription criteria.
Applications for Year 7 places must be made through the Local Authority’s admissions process. The admissions round for September 2026 entry opens on 12 September 2025, with a closing date of 31 October 2025. We encourage families to attend our Open Evening to meet staff and explore the facilities. National Offer Day is on 2 March 2026, when parents will be notified of the outcome of their application.
Applications for Sixth Form are managed directly by the school. The admissions process and entry requirements are outlined in our Sixth Form admissions policy, available to download from our website. For more information or to arrange a visit, please contact the Sixth Form admissions team.
If your application for a place is unsuccessful, you have the right to appeal the decision. Appeals should be submitted in writing within 20 school days of receiving the refusal notice. Appeals will be heard by an independent panel, and you will have the opportunity to present your case.
