Our Character Curriculum at Lift Aylward is fundamentally defined by a set of core values that drive all we do, aspiring to nothing less than excellence in every endeavour. Our PSHCE curriculum is a spiralled curriculum that promotes our community spirit and equips students with the knowledge and understanding to be a good citizen, preparing them for a competitive and rapidly changing world. The curriculum is delivered through literacy strategies to promote and develop fluent communicators, critical thinkers and to stimulate students' moral, social and cultural curiosity.
“The school provides a comprehensive personal development programme. The personal,social and health education curriculum includes all statutory content and builds on prior learning, helping pupils develop a strong understanding of topics such as democracy,healthy lifestyles and teamwork. Pupils can explain these ideas clearly and confidently,together with other key themes they learn about, like building healthy relationships and consent.”
At lift Aylward we offer our students a robust careers programme that is dedicated to empowering our students to make informed, ambitious and attainable decisions about their futures whether that is for future education, training or work placed pathways. Our careers curriculum is a whole school approach. Students have weekly careers lessons throught their personal development programme.
