Our Sixth form is a vibrant and supportive community where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.
We aim to be a diverse and inclusive Sixth Form that ensures each of our students reach their full potential. We believe all of our Sixth Form students must become independent learners. They must have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and genuinely demonstrate the passion and resilience needed to succeed.
We have high expectations that our students will respect their peers, teachers and members of the public to create both a positive working environment within the school but also to give a good account of themselves outside of the school. Our Sixth Form students are positive role models to the younger students within the school and we strongly believe that they should play an active role in supporting the school in striving for excellence.
Why choose our sixth form?
Our Sixth Form is truly inclusive and aims to equip and empower our students to develop and succeed in following their chosen educational and career path. We have created an environment that is both challenging yet supportive and use our expertise in education and careers guidance to ensure that our students are well informed and inspired to achieve their goals. We offer a comprehensive and diverse curriculum that is closely matched to the current academic and employment market, designed to stimulate and engage the needs of our students and also to prepare them for life ahead. We offer a broad range of both A-Level and BTEC courses which are complimented by a robust enrichment programme.
We aim to help students ‘find their remarkable’ and become well-rounded and professional citizens and considerable time is spent on personal and social development, including a focus on leadership, organisation, responsibility, initiative and character. In order to ensure that our students make the right choices, we offer a range of opportunities in Sixth Form to broaden their horizons including visits to universities, masterclasses, insight days, workplace visits and work experience placements.
Our students are happy and supported and as such, make remarkable progress – our progress score is amongst the highest in the country. We are rightly proud of this and encourage you to join us in attaining further success.
Ofsted 2025 said:
“Leaders accurately assess the strengths and weaknesses of the post-16 provision. The study programme, considering the school’s context, balances academic and vocational choices. Leaders are flexible regarding admissions, sometimes accepting students who narrowly miss entry requirements but demonstrate high aptitude.”
“The well-sequenced curriculum is generally taught well. Disadvantaged students and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive the support they need to succeed. In the vocational courses, students make significantly positive progress from their low starting points and achieved in line with students nationally in 2025.”

We have a dedicated Sixth Form Learning Resource Centre which is fully-equipped with a suite of computers, over 100 laptops that can be borrowed, space for private study and a range of books and resources that are designed for the study of the courses that we offer.
We also have a Common Room which houses computers, space for group study and offers a more relaxed environment. Students have access to WIFI across the school and often take laptop computers into their lessons. They are also provided with a monthly printing and photocopying allowance to ensure that they can develop into independent and resourceful learners.
